Kiwi Sheepskin carefully select the very best from the two major New Zealand sheepskin tanning companies. With a combined 175 or so years of tanning experience between them, both chosen primary tanneries have a refined process to convert one of nature's most versatile resources into a range of diverse and original lambskin creations.

Established in 1969, Classic Sheepskins is New Zealand's longest established privately owned sheepskin tannery.
From humble beginnings the tannery has developed its own unique manufacturing plant producing a diverse range of quality products.
Their quality policy is "To supply top quality products and service for our customers". This has been further reinforced by them achieving ISO 9001 registration in 1995, and its principles being strictly adhered to.
Through Classic's unique tanning process, skilled tanners adhering to strict quality control, turn quality raw material into superior handcrafted products made to stringent Wool Mark standards and specifications.

For 45 years Classic Sheepskins have accepted the challenge of developing innovative new sheepskin products in a wide variety of areas and becoming experts in these fields.
Over the years we have picked their very best products. Their sheepskin products include natural single and multiple pelt sheepskin rugs up to the huge rectangle rugs. We can also offer a custom rug service for non-standard or particularly large sizes - the largest rug we've had made to date was a stunning 45 pelt curly wool one!
Classic's expertise extends to sheepskin car seat covers, large designer rugs, medical sheepskin underlays/mattress pads and medical wheelchair covers, pads & accessories, plus a whole lot more.

Started in 1881 by the Bowron brothers, the business quickly flourished and a family tradition of excellence in lambskin tanning began. Over 130 years later, the Bowron name is synonymous with some of the world's finest sheepskin products.
